With your knowledge, I don’t know how you are able to watch anything nowadays. A friend suggested a show on Peacock called “Resident Alien”. It’s basically a My favorite Martian/Mork redo. It is full of so many clichés. I guess a younger audience wouldn’t know it’s a cliche. I’m a sucker for the Gilligan cut though.

Well that’s the curse of having all of the tv knowledge we have. We’ve seen it in some for. Sometimes when I guess how a show is going to turn out they’ll ask me if I’ve seen it before and I say, yeah, when it was called Rockford Files.

The morning sickness "clue" bugs me too. As does the hand on the belly of the pregnant person so we know they are pregnant and not merely fat. So lame. This isn't along the same vibe, but the barking dog... WHY!? I have a TV watching dog who can recognize even a dog-shaped finial from 15 feet and will go ape, so please no no no barking dogs!

There are so many of these tired story devices. I might do one on overused dialogue in movies. LIke, the old gem, “You look like shit…”
